We were treated to some spectacular skies late yesterday. After a bit of brief research I have found these were middle level clouds (2.5 to 6 km high), known as Altocumulus.
I hoped they would stay around long enough for sunset and although still present, they had dissipated to some extent.
Still, they made for some very pretty skies over Melbourne’s outer Eastern suburbs and The Dandenong Ranges.
The sky over Mount Dandenong resembled an oil painting, even though the sunset was reflecting across the sky.
